4 Elements to Determine Why Your Content Has Poor Ranking

If you are somewhat acquainted with SEO, for sure you have heard the saying, “content is king.” What if you picture this scenario? You are confident and know everything  about your topic. Then, you posted you wrote, and you just know in your hear that you will receive good ratings.

However, as months passed by so slowly, your hopes started to dwindle and the numbers you anticipated NEVER happened. The page ranking is still poor. You get angry and question yourself. Good news, not everything is really lost yet. Giving up is not even an option here! To help you trace your steps, here are the possible reasons why it didn’t go well.

  1. What is the topic?

Search engine algorithms think of many ways to determine where your webpage should be. It differs from page speed to link profile. Before you do that, start with these questions first:

  • What is the topic of your content?
  • Will your topic answer the concerns of a wider audience?
  • Will it offer answers to the questions of your users?

After answering these questions, you will know how relevant your content is. For search engines to assess it as functional, your content has to have myriad of benefits. Content should always be accurate and precise. Search engines will not consider any form of  plagiarism.

Research thoroughly before you even start writing. Come up with something substantial, and comprehensible to your audience. Lastly, make it a joy for your users to read what you published.

  1. What are the keywords you used?

Keywords empowers you to have a web subtopics. So, cover every base and write everything that relates to your main keyword. If you want, do a keyword research to know all the related keywords.

Be specific on what you write because that is how you will get your customers. Do long-tail keywords instead of writing about general or generic phrases.

  1. Keep going!

Ranking will have a good result if your content is appropriate to what the users searched! The content that scored high in the past months may no longer be pertinent now. To discover the latest trends, use a keyword research tool. You could also do it manually by using Google’s autocomplete feature. Type in keywords on the Google search bar and it will give you an idea of the popular topics.

Look for your own keywords and inspect that of your rivals too.

  • Will the existence of a powerful rival influence your rankings?
  • How many exactly are they?
  • Did these rivals operate long before your first keyword research?
  1. Link profile is feeble.

In summary, let us not forget that there could millions reasons that influence your rankings. It could be about page speed, user experience, sitemap issues, crawling problems, and so on.

It all boils down to this fact: coming up with a content is very vital. However, updating your contents is even more vital. Hence, take time to update webpages, keywords, content and links.
