The spontaneous yet inviting public spaces advocate a sense of genuine and well-being society for its 5,476 residing people.
A hundred years ago, the city was established. However, it was known that in the year 1910, the initial land was filed by California's Kriegbaums. 640 acres that include the fine land area that is now we called "city's downtown area". Litchfield Park was established by one of the executive of a company named Paul Weeks Litchfield in the year 1916. Litchfield during this time was looking and pursuing a good farmlands to harvest and propagate long essential cotton, with provisions rare and limited due to the combination of German U boats invading ships and the canker of boll beetles in cotton farm areas based on the east coast. Cotton was a basic and important material in Goodyear's manufacture of the basic pneumatic tires.
He unfortunately failed in securing the farm lands located in Arizona, yet eventually, he was capable to invest land areas for around 36,000 acres in the Salt River Valley area. 5,000 acres of this land were called Litchfield Park. Time passed, the named changed to Litchfield Ranch and was changed again to its current name, with the approval of the US postal service in the year 1926.
One of the most historic and controversy hotels in Arizona was the Wigwam hotel. It was officially opened for visiting tourist in the year 1929. The initial purpose and plan for the hotel by Goodyear is for it to be used by their sales executives for accommodation, yet, people loved the resort and turned into one of the area's most popular tourist havens. As requested by the good employees of Goodyear, Litchfield upgraded the original lodge into a calming winter retreat.
The hotel went to an extremely revitalization in the year 2010, with the revival of its post sign that welcomes the attracted visitors as one of the enhanced key. The Wigwam has amazed thousands of its visitors in its 86 annual history, from different generations, choosing up few awards and kudos along their way. These exciting certificates include things like recognition from the different travel websites and magazines, and that includes Arizona Business Magazine, Arizona Foothills Magazine as well as the famous AZCentral.com and Trip Advisor's 2011 to 2015 Credential of Superiority.
One of the popular destinations in the area is the hotel's three-18-hole golf courses, designed by the Goodman Robert Trent Jones, one of the architects of the city. The golf course was made for devoted and keen golfers, also for earning lots of awards, which includes A Best Resort Course in the year 2013 by the honored and leading Golf week Magazine. Another award is called the Most Challenging Valley Course for the year 2013 and year 2014 by the brilliant Arizona Foothills Magazine.
Another popular hotel in the valley is called The Iconic hotel. It is popular when it comes to foods that they serve. The hotel has earned various culinary awards like the Award of Excellence from the Litchfield's Wine Spectator in the 2012 and the year 2014, as well as the 4 Diamond Certificate from the Automobile Association of USA.
In the present time, the Wigman attracts its visitors to create their own beautiful and memorable histories, be their personal reflection to be cherished by everyone in the family or maybe with their business partners. The promise and potentiality are constant.
Goodyear, in the year 1964 established "Litchfield Park Land and Development Co" in order to widen the Litchfield Park into approximately 90,000 people residing in the community. With the head of the company Arden E. Goodyear. The plan and all the expenses cost 750 million dollars.
Goodyear failed many times over the development, and that includes trading the properties, that means they city must undergo to have a license from the new property holder in order to establish a sidewalk. The plans were discarded for developing the Litchfield Park prior to its completion and was sold any land that they could.
In the year 2010, Litchfield Park's population was 5,476 people, according to 2010 census.
